BLCI’s Update as of December 31, 2021

Bohol Light Company Inc. (BLCI) has three (3) substations with five power transformers. Out of which, only one (1) substation which supplies two (2) feeders can receive and distribute power any time the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) can transmit power from Bohol Power Plants.

As of 5:45pm of December 31, 2021, BLCI is still on standby mode awaiting for the power to be supplied from Power Barge (PB) 104 through NGCP’s transmission facilities going to BLCI’s substation.

According to the NGCP Area Control Center, the energized 69kV line is still up to Garcia Hernandez (Ubay-Alicia-Garcia) only. A minimum load is required to support PB 104’s stable operation. Only when its system would be stabilized can the Garcia-Tagbilaran 69kV Line be energized. However, current power consumption is still insufficient as of the moment.

With this, BLCI cannot give the precise time as to when the power supply will be transmitted to our system.

We humbly request our dear consumers to extend your patience as we welcome the New Year 2022.

Thank you for your understanding. Still, we wish everyone a Happy New Year!

STATUS OF WORK ACTIVITIES

Clearing Operation to Main Roads and Highways – 85%

Repairs of damages (Erection and Stringing of Lines) – 10%

Correction of Leaning Poles – 90%

Kini mao ang Feeder Alpha (from R. Enerio St. near LTO to J.A. Clarin St. to Plaza Rizal and to CPG North Avenue up to DCPNHS) and Feeder Charlie (from Gallares Hospital going to cor. M. Parras St. and J.A.

Hospitals

PUBLIC ADVISORY

To: All Our Valued Clients/Customers

Date: December 18, 2021

Due to Supertyphoon ‘Odette’ which heavily hit Bohol having left extreme damages to Boholanos, power supply is totally shutdown.

After the inspection/assessment we conducted, we have found several broken and/or leaning poles, cut wires, and impassable and inaccessible roads. With all these, we need to clear all poles and wires obstructing the roads and highways, conduct rehabilitation of our Distribution System by ensuring that all feeders are up and running and make repairs first of all main lines, before the customers’ poles and wires are attended to.

However, please note that BLCI’s repair of its Distribution System should also go along with the repair of transmission lines of National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP). As of posting, NGCP is yet to release its official statement on its restoration schedule after completion of its damage assessment. With this, we also cannot give the precise timeline as to when power supply would be restored.

BLCI apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause you and we humbly request you to extend your patience. Rest assured that our men will be exerting all efforts to restore all lines as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

Sgd.
